Nepal beats USA by 37 runs in practice match



KATHMANDU: Nepal-11 defeated the USA by 37 runs in a practice match played ahead of the ICC World Cup League-2 on Tuesday.

Chasing down the 112 runs target set by Nepal, the USA managed to get only 74 runs on the board losing all wickets in 33.2 overs.

Steve Taylor top-scored for the USA at 28 runs as Tilim Patel made 20 runs.

For Nepal, Sher Malla took four wickets giving away 13 runs. Sagar Dhakal grabbed three wickets as Pawan Shraff took two wickets.

Earlier put to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal notched-up 111 runs on the board losing all wickets in 33.5 overs.

For Nepal, Subash Khakurel top-scored at 52 runs hitting five fours.

The USA’s Tilim Patel took five wickets.

The national cricket team is scheduled to play the opening match of the tournament with Oman. The match would be held at TU Cricket Pitch in Kirtipur on Wednesday.
