Two more succumb to COVID-19 in Biratnagar

BIRATNAGAR: Two more people have died from COVID-19 in the course of treatment in Biratnagar.

A 75-year-old man of Mirchaiya, Siraha died while undergoing treatment at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar on Thursday night.

According to Narayan Dahal, the manager of the hospital, the septuagenarian was hospitalized on Thursday after he complained of chest infection and respiratory complications. His PCR report came out positive for COVID-19 yesterday evening.

Similarly, a 56-year-old man of Damak municipality died in the course of treatment at Birat Teaching Hospital in Budhiganga rural municipality at the wee hours on Friday, said Sunil Dev, the in-charge of isolation ward.

The patient had been hospitalized at Biratnagar Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 on November 28. The patient was also suffering from fever and respiratory complications.

He had been referred to Birat Teaching Hospital by his relatives after COVID-19 infection was detected in him, according to Sunil Dev.
