Share investors picket SEBON demanding cut in brokerage commission



KATHMANDU: Share investors have picketed the office of Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) demanding reduction in the brokerage commission.

Five associations including Nepal Investment Forum, Share Investors’ Association of Nepal, Nepal Capital Market Investors’ Association staged a demonstration accusing the Stock Brokers Association of Nepal of charging exorbitant fee.

Holding placards, the irate demonstrators picketed SEBON today arguing that the brokerage commission was not reduced even if the transaction went online.

Talking to Khabarhub, Chhote Lal Rauniyar, the chairman of Nepal Investment Forum, said the stock brokers should not charge the same amount of commission when the transaction is carried out online.

Stock brokers have been charging 0.40 to 0.60 percent in commission in daily transaction of Rs 80 million to 200 million.
