Kathmandu Valley witnesses 1,878 fresh COVID-19 cases



KATHMANDU: As many as 1,878 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 1,570 cases have been confirmed in Kathmandu, 119 in Bhaktapur and 189 in Lalitpur.

Meanwhile, a total of 3,309 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 has reached 1,82,923 with fresh cases as of Wednesday afternoon.

Altogether 13,144 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

A total of 3,844 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 1,44,978 in the country.

Nepal currently has 36,911 active cases.

Likewise, 1,305 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

A total of 389 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 78 have been put on ventilator support.

As many as 30 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1034, the Ministry confirmed.
