Protestors in Butwal pelt stones at CM Pokhrel’s vehicle, 12 held



KATHMANDU: A group of protestors hurled stones at the vehicle of Chief Minister of Province-5 Shankar Pokhrel in Butwal today.

Chief Minister Pokhrel was heading toward Butwal from Kathmandu when protestors pelted stones at his vehicle.

Butwal has been witnessing an agitation led by Nepali Congress party against the naming of the province and the proposal to shift the capital to Dang’s Bhalubang.

Other vehicles deployed under his protection were also stoned, police said.

Meanwhile, police have arrested 12 people for pelting stones at Chief Minister Pokhrel’s vehicle.

Protestors also showed black flags to him.
