Youths demonstrate in front of Chinese Embassy against encroachment

Anti-China voices continue to roar in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Demonstrations have been held in front of the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu on Sunday protesting the Chinese side of encroaching upon Nepali land in Humla district.

Youths and students affiliated to Nepal Students Union (NSU) and Tarun Dal jointly staged a protest in front of the Embassy against the Chinese encroachment on Nepal’s land.

The group chanted slogans such as “Back-off China”, “Return Nepal’s land”, “Down with China,” among others.

Similarly, the demonstrators also lashed out at what they termed “Chinese intervention”, saying that China has been trying to interfere in Nepal’s internal issues, which they claimed was a Chinese aggression.

The demonstrators also asked the Chinese government to allow uninterrupted passage of goods to Nepal.

It should be maintained that China has allegedly constructed nine buildings in Lapcha area of ​​Limi village in Himalipari of Ward No. 6 of Namkha Municipality of Humla.

According to Namkha Village Municipality Chairman Bishnu Bahadur Lama, the construction work is in full swing.

He informed that the Chinese side had unilaterally constructed nine commercial buildings in the Nepali territory. “Even though I tried to reach an understanding with the responsible officials of the Chinese side, that attempt was not successful,” he said.
