Injured in Gulmi landslide airlifted to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU:  Five people injured in the landslide  at Maldi of Ishma rural municipality of Gulmi district have been airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment.

They were rescued and airlifted on a Nepal Army helicopter at the initiation of lawmaker of Gulmi Constituency 2 Gokarna Bista.

The rescued are five-year-old Aush Khatri, Tika Bahadur Khatri, 64, Putali Khatri, 90, Sirjana Saru,22, and 25-year-old Basanta Saru of Ishma rural municipality-1.

Bista paid tribute to the landslide victims and wished speedy recovery to the injured in the landslide.

Eighteen-month-old Sijan Saru of Ishma-1 and seven-year-old Apeksha Katri of Nisti Dhandphant died in the landslide that fell down from 500 meters above, displacing 116 houses in the area on Thursday night.
