Govt to deploy army at development projects, police along Nepal-India border



KATHMANDU: The government has given the responsibility of security of infrastructure, development projects and prisons to Nepali Army.

A meeting of the security bodies held at the Ministry of Home Affairs decided to mobilize Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force to the borders to contain the spread of coronavirus.

The decision to this decision was made considering the spread of coronavirus in the country.

It should be noted that Prime Minister KP Oli had earlier on Sunday instructed the Home Ministry to implement the lockdown strictly, especially at the bordering areas.

PM Oli has also instructed to security forces not to allow any Nepali citizens stranded in India to enter Nepal at any cost.

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has instructed the security forces to strictly implement the directives, particularly at the borders.
