DDA bans sales and distribution of two medicines

KATHMANDU: The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has banned the sales and distribution of two drugs saying that they do not meet the minimum standard until further notice.

Issuing a notice on Tuesday, the Department has stopped the sale and distribution of batch number 1187360 Metris (Metronidazole) and batch number 1H82936 Compound Sodium Lactate injection.

Likewise, Compound Sodium Lactate is used to replace mineral salts and body fluid that may be lost for a variety of reasons.

Both drugs are the products of Indian companies. The use of these drugs resulted in kidney failure of three women.
