KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has held a discussion with chiefs and representatives of major political parties concerning the collection of the voters’ list and implementing periodic special program-2076.

The EC discussed with political parties as the activity to update the voters’ list could not be effective as the collection of the voters’ list from 77 district returning offices, 77 district administrative offices and determined 38 area administrative offices has been continued.

The EC has initiated the collection of the voters’ list and updating special program from February 17 to mid -July 2020.

Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said he anticipated an effective role from political parties to collect the name list without mistakes and to carry out voters’ name-list updating tasks in a smooth and easy manner.
