Maheshwor Neupane is new Home Secretary

KATHMANDU: The government has transferred Secretary Maheshwor Neupane at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to Home Ministry.

A meeting of Council of Ministers held on Monday decided to that effect, according to sources.

Former Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai resigned from his post on Friday.

Section 17 of the Civil Servants Act, 2049 has fixed the tenure of secretary for five years. He had tendered his resignation two days before his tenure expires.

Likewise, Chief Secretary of State-1 Suresh Adhikari has been sent to CIAA.
