Two arrested over bribery charge

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two people including a government official of the Transport Management Office in Sano Bharyang in the capital.

Acting on a tip-off, a team deployed from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Tangal arrested Shiva Lal Paudel, a section officer of the office, with Rs 13,000 in bribe.

The team also arrested Dipak Khatiwada, a service seeker, who offered kickback to the official for getting his work done.

The team arrested them from Sano Bharyang Office on Sunday.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking both the arrested under control.
