TANAHUN: Senior leader of the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) Ram Chandra Poudel has inaugurated the Buldikhola Bridge in Tanahun on Thursday.

Poudel cut the ribbon and inaugurated the bridge amidst a ceremony that was foiled by the cadres of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

It was decided to inaugurate the bridge on Buldi River connecting Tanahun’s Byas Municipality wards 1, 10, and 11 on Wednesday.

The situation was tense after the ruling NCP cadres obstructed the inauguration ceremony. The administration had even issued a prohibitory order.

Police had taken Poudel under control after he went to inaugurate the bridge amidst a prohibitory order. Poudel was kept in the custody of the Tanahun Police Office for three hours yesterday.
