PM Oli’s advisor trio, Personal Secretary test COVID-19 positive



KATHMANDU: Three advisors to Prime Minister KP Oli have tested positive for the coronavirus on Saturday afternoon.

Reports of Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal, Press Advisor Surya Thapa and Foreign Affairs Advisor Rajan Bhattarai have come out with coronavirus positive lately. PM Oli’s Chief Personal Secretary Indra Bhandari has also been infected.

They had given their swabs for the coronavirus test on Friday.

Rimal confirmed through a tweet on Saturday afternoon that he had contracted the coronavirus.

“I have tested positive for the coronavirus from yesterday’s PCR,” he wrote, “In the meantime, I urge all who have come in contact with me to take care of their health.”

Likewise, Thapa said on his Facebook that the PCR test done on Friday showed the infection on him.

He wrote on Facebook, ‘Yesterday’s PCR test showed that I am coronavirus positive. I urge all friends who are in contact with me to take special care.”

Bhattarai also confirmed the infection through a tweet.
