One nabbed with 400,000 Indian rupees

KAPILVASTU: Armed Police Force (APF) Krishnanagar, Kapilvastu, has nabbed a person with 400,000 Indian rupees from Krishnanagar on Saturday.

According to Inspector Niranjan Raj Karki, the Chief of Border out Post Krishnanagar, Pappu Gupta, 54, and inhabitant of Krishnanagar, was nabbed while entering Nepal with a large amount of Indian currency.

APF Inspector Karki informed that a team of APF members under his command nabbed Gupta tracing the clue that illegal Indian currency was being brought to Nepal.

According to him, 400 notes in the denomination of IRs 500 and 100 notes in the denomination of IRs 2,000 were seized.

APF is planning to hand over Gupta to Public Revenue Investigation Office Butwal for further actions ahead.

Carrying such a huge cache of Indian rupees is illegal in Nepal.
