Two from Saptari die of coronavirus in Dharan



KATHMANDU: Two COVID-19 patients from Saptari succumbed to the pandemic at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS).

According to Information Officer at BPKIHS, Dr. Nidesh Sapkota, a 55-year-old man and a 50-year-old man from Rajbiraj-7 in Saptari, died on Thursday.

Dr. Sapkota said that the 55-year-old man was suffering from hypertension and diabetics for the past 15 years. The man referred to the hospital from Saptari was diagnosed coronavirus positive on August 23.

He breathed his last at around 1:15 pm while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit.

Likewise, the 50-year-old man also had diabetes. He was admitted to the hospital today after he was diagnosed with fever, respiratory problems and weakness.

Dr. Sapkota added that he died at 2:02 pm today and his report came positive for the pandemic virus after the death.
