KATHMANDU: A clash broke out between local youths and police on Thursday during the chariot procession of Rato Machindranath taken out defying the prohibitory order clamped to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
The clash ensued after the law enforcement agency stopped the procession.
Police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the crowd. Local youths pelted stones at the police personnel for obstructing the chariot procession.
The youths pulled the chariot from Pulchowk to Dhama:Falcha Pati. Security personnel in large numbers have been mobilized.
