Dhorpatan floods update: Eight bodies retrieved

BAGLUNG: Eight bodies among 13 missing in the Baglung floods have been retrieved so far.

As many as 15 houses were washed away after a flooded Sukurdung rivulet entered Dhorpatan municipality in Baglung district on Wednesday midnight.

“At least 15 houses were washed away by the floods that took a toll on Bobang, Sukurdung and Sherabang villages at 12:45 am today”, said Chief District Officer Suresh Neupane.

According to Neupane, wards 6, 7, 8 and 9 of the municipality have been hit hard by the floods.

Meanwhile, a rescue team from Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force has been searching the missing bodies, said Police Inspector Prakash Singh Bhandari, chief of Area Police Office, Burtibang.

“The loss of properties and the exact number of people missing in the floods are yet to be ascertained,” said Bhandari.
