Prohibitory orders imposed in six cities of Province 2

JANAKPURDHAM: Prohibitory orders have been imposed in six district headquarters of Province 2 to stem coronavirus spread.

The prohibitory orders have been imposed in Rajbiraj, Janakpurdham, Jaleshwor, Gaur, Kalaiya and Birgunj.

“The prohibitory orders have been imposed in these district headquarters after the COVID-19 cases spread to the community level,” said Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Province 2 Gyanendra Kumar Yadav.

Chief District Officer of Dhanusha Prem Prasad Bhattarai said the prohibitory order has been imposed in line with Section 6 (3) of Local Administration Act, 2028 and Section 2 of Infectious Disease Act, 2020.

Newly infected people have no travel history nor have they come in contact with the infected people, said CDO of Mahottari Krishna Katuwal.

As many as 54 people have been penalized so far for not using masks in eight districts of Province 2, according to Province  Police Chief DIG Dhiraj Pratap Singh.
