Madhuka Farmer drone to drive away locusts

KATHMANDU: A Nepal-manufactured drone flight test has been carried out successfully.

Agriculture Science Center, Vegetables Crops Development Center and Madhuka Drone Services have jointly carried out a successful test of Madhuka Farmer drone.

Madhuka Farmer drone will help spray pesticides to kill locusts and save crops, said Chief Executive Officer of Madhuka Drone  Services Shambhu Shiwakoti.

The newly manufactured drone can carry up to 25 kg of pesticide but in the test flight 10 kg of pesticide had been kept in the drone.

Since the drone is equipped with six motors, its sound will be big which will help drive away pests. An additional speaker can also be adjusted to it for bigger sound.
