1,200 Nepalis in Australia fill out forms online seeking rescue



KATHMANDU: A total of 1,200 Nepali people stranded in Australia and New Zealand have filled out forms asking for their rescue.

The Nepali Embassy in Canberra on May 29 issued a notice asking all the Nepali people willing to return home to submit their details.

As many as 1,200 Nepali nationals submitted forms online by 5 pm on June 2, said Ambassador Mahesh Raj Dahal.

The Embassy will send the details to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government will rescue them through chartered flights, accordingly.

Australia had imposed lockdown by banning international flights since March 25.

Nepali people who went to visit their sons and daughters, to take part in programs and those who went on visit visas have been stranded in various places of Australia and New Zealand.
