COVID-19 test begins in Surkhet

SURKHET: The COVID-19 test lab has come into operation in Surkhet from Thursday.

The testing process has begun in the State Hospital after the Ministry of Health and Population provided testing machine, kits and necessary human resources.

Hospital director Dr Dambar Khadka said that the swab collected from the suspected people of coronavirus and will be tested in the lab.

He said that all preparations for the lab test has been completed.

The Ministry has assigned National Public Health Laboratory’s specialist Dr Ram Krishna Shrestha as the expert technologist for the purpose.

Shrestha would impart training to lab technicians staying here for about a week.
