A Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) team took these vehicles under control from various places in the Valley on Wednesday. These vehicles were impounded for flouting the lockdown order implemented to prevent COVID-19 infection.

MTPD chief, Senior Superintendent Bhim Prasad Dhakal, said among the vehicles taken under control, two thousand four hundred five are two-wheel and 271 are four-wheel vehicles.

He said people who had come out of their homes without valid reason were sent back to their homes after explaining them the situation.

According to MTPD chief, the rule permitting the operation of vehicles only for emergency works by taking the special permits would be strictly enforced. The government has announced a lockdown throughout the country from March 24 till April 7 in view of the COVID-19 risk.
