Transport Management Offices not to conduct driving exam

KATHMANDU: Transport Management Offices in the Kathmandu Valley said they would not conduct driving tests for new learners bearing in mind the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Ekantakuna-based License Office Chief Sambar Bahadur Karki said no decision has been made to initiate procedures for the driving test right now as the COVID-19 continues to pose a health threat.

The Office has suspended the test for new learners since last March. According to Karki, they are waiting the situation to return to normalcy to resume the exam.

The Office had remained shut from March 23 to mid-July owing the nationwide lockdown against the virus.

He said that the Office will proceed towards the distribution of new driving license once the Bagmati Province’s infrastructure ministry decides to resume the process.
