NUWAKOT: Nuwakot Police has nabbed an engineer for soliciting bribe from a service seeker to issue a certificate of ‘completion of house construction’.

According to the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Parbat Poudel, an engineer working in Belkotgadhi Municipality of Nuwakot, was caught taking a bribe of Rs 75,000 from a service recipient.

A team deployed from CIAA Tangal arrested engineer Poudel with the bribe amount.

CIAA team caught Poudel when the latter was trying to take bribe through Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, a local hotel entrepreneur.

CIAA has nabbed both Bhattarai and Poudel.

Poudel has been working as an engineer in Belkotgadhi Municipality.

The source informed that Poudel demanded bribe for approving the final budget of the drinking water project and releasing the construction license of the completed house.

A case has been filed against him in a special court on Wednesday.
