Over 4,700 kids below 10 years infected with COVID-19 so far

KATHMANDU: More than 4,700 children under the age of 10 years have been infected with the coronavirus in Nepal.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, out of 173,567 infected people, 4,733 children have been infected with the coronavirus.

Of them, 1,936 are girls and 2,797 are boys, according to the ministry.

The highest number of 2,243 children under the age of 10 have been infected in Bagmati.

Similarly, 423 children have been infected in Province 2, 515 in Province 5, 205 in Karnali, 450 in Province 1, 610 in Sudurpaschim Province, and 187 in Gandaki Province.

In seven districts including Taplejung, Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, Tehrathum, Panchthar, Manang, and Mustang, no infection has been seen in children under 10 years of age.
