Three including an octogenarian die due to COVID-19 infection



BIRATNAGAR:  Three additional people including an octogenarian have died due to coronavirus infection in separate places of the country.

Two septuagenarian men have died of coronavirus infection in the course of treatment in Biratnagar, Morang.

A 70-year-old man of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-3, who was admitted to isolation center of Koshi Hospital after he tested positive for the virus on October 23, passed away due to COVID-19 infection, said Gyan Bahadur Basnet, the manager of the hospital.

Similarly, a 72-year-old man of Damak municipality-2, Damak died in the course of treatment at Nobel Teaching Hospital.

He was admitted to the hospital after his PCR test result came out positive on October 28.

The elderly died in the course of treatment, said Narayan Dahal, the manager of the hospital.

Likewise, an octogenarian has died due to coronavirus infection in Sindhuli district.

An 84-year-old woman of Kamalamai municipality-6, Panityanki succumbed to the virus on Sunday night.

The elderly had been admitted to Dhulikhel Hospital on Friday after she complained of respiratory complications and high fever.

Her swab test result came out positive half an hour before the patient breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the hospital, said Bimal Shrestha, the manager of the Hospital.

Shrestha said the hospital administration is coordinating with the Nepal Army for the management of the deceased’s body.
