Coronavirus detected in a man two days after his death



KATHMANDU: Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in a man two days after his death in Kavre district.

A 28-year-old man of Mahabharat rural municipality-2 who died at Dhulikhel Hospital on Wednesday morning has tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

The patient, who was receiving treatment at a local health clinic based in Khanikhola rural municipality-3, had been airlifted to Dhulikhel Hospital after his condition deteriorated .

Doctors pronounced him dead as soon as he was brought to the hospital.

His PCR test report conducted posthumously at the laboratory of the hospital came out positive for COVID-19, said Dr Narendra Kumar Jha, chief of District Health Office, Kavre.

The hospital has also confirmed coronavirus infection in the deceased.

He was suffering from high fever, dry cough and had lung, liver and heart infections.

With this, the number of deaths from coronavirus has reached seven in Kavre district.
