473 new cases in past 24 hrs, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally jumps to 14, 519

KATHMANDU: Nepal has reported 473 new positive cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population stated.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Wednesday, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that among the newly infected are 364 males and 109 females.

With the new cases, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally jumps to 14, 519.

According to him, 4,537 samples were tested through the PCR method in the last 24 hours.

Testing laboratories have been established in all seven provinces, he said. Currently, 25 labs are in operation across the country,
Likewise, the number of recovered people has reached 5,320 across the country after 664 recovered in the past 24 hours.

Currently, 10,137 people are in isolation and 38,109 in quarantine centers across the country.

COVID-19 has spread to all 77 districts of Nepal and the death toll stands at 31.
