President prorogues Parliament’s budget session



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has prorogued the ongoing session of both the Houses of the Federal Parliament—House of Representatives and National Assembly— on Thursday.

On the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, President Bhandari ended the budget session of the Parliament from 5 pm today.

“I have prorogued the current session of both the Houses of the Federal Parliament from 5 pm on Thursday on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers in accordance with Article 93 (2) of the Constitution,” said a statement issued by President Bhandari.

Earlier today, a Cabinet meeting held at Baluwatar had decided to prorogue the budget session of the parliament and had recommended the President for ending the ongoing session.

Before the meeting, Prime Minister KP Oli had reached Sheetal Niwas to meet President Bhandari for consultation.
