Shrestha suggests Indian PM Modi to receive blessings from Pashupathinath, Muktinath

KATHMANDU: National Assembly member and spokesperson of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Narayankaji Shrestha spoke to resolve the border disputes with India through dialogues.

In a National Assembly meeting today, Shrestha stated that the border disputes along the Nepal’s territory in Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulek should be sorted out through diplomatic efforts and dialogues on the basis of the historical facts.

Saying that Indian Premier Narendra Modi is a religious and spiritual personality and Nepal as a land of virtue, Shrestha asked Modi to take blessings from Pashupatinath and Muktinath at this time.

“Take decision not to take away parts of the virtuous land (Tapobhumi,” Shrestha said while asking the Indian PM not to encroach upon Nepal’s land.

He was of the view that Nepal’s relations with the neighboring countries should be established through talks on the basis of historical truth and facts.

“Nepal has friendly neighborhood with China. China has done nothing to hurt Nepal’s sovereignty and geographical indivisibility but the agreement between China and India to make a trade and spiritual route through Nepal’s Lipulek is done without Nepal’s consent. China is supposed to review this issue,” Shrestha said.

“We want our exemplary relations with China not getting weak from any side,” he added.
On the occasion, Shrestha also thanked the main opposition party for its historical move taken for safeguarding Nepal’s sovereignty and national indivisibility.
