KATHMANDU: Confusion arose at Bouddhanath area on Tuesday morning when about 30 people came in a group and started opening their shops as if in a rush.

Claiming that their livelihood has been hard hit by the continuous lockdown, the shopkeepers of Bouddha, came in a group and opened their shops on Tuesday morning.

One of the bystanders there told us under anonymity that around 30 shopkeepers came in a group and started opening their shops bewildering the police and the people around. However, the police got them close the shops immediately.

After the latest lockdown extension up to June 12, the industrialists, businesspersons, shopkeepers and general public all seem equally fed up with the lockdown imposed since March 24 to curb coronavirus.

With increasing cases of coronavirus in the country, people have grown skeptical over the effectiveness of the lockdown and the shopkeepers and industrialists are giving pressure to restore life to normalcy.
