Coronavirus kills 106, 919, infects 1,858,637 in USA



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 623 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 106, 919.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 21, 467 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,858,637 so far.

Currently, 1,139, 072 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 16, 947 are critical.  Meanwhile, 612, 649 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 29, 988 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 11,732 and 7, 035 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 377,404 and infecting 6,365, 473 people as of Tuesday morning.
