KATHMANDU: With Coronavirus wreaking havoc across the world, the death toll from the novel virus has climbed to 233, 814 after 5, 785 died in the last 24 hours as of Friday morning.
According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 85, 667 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 3,303,850 as of Friday morning.
Currently, 2,030, 981 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the world, of which 50, 962 are critical.
Meanwhile, 1,039,055 have recovered after treatment.
America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 2, 186 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 63, 841 as of Friday morning.
According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 30,536 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,094,730. This is an increase by 2,950 compared to the other day. It was 27, 586 on Thursday.
Currently, 878, 565 Coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 15,226 are critical. Meanwhile, 152, 324 have recovered after treatment.
New York is the worst-hit with 23, 780 deaths followed by New Jersey and Michigan with 7,228 and 3, 789 deaths, respectively.
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.
Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has 285 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 27, 967 as of Friday morning.
The number of infection cases in the country has reached 205, 463 after 1,872 new cases were reported, the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America, according to Worldometer.
Currently, 101,551 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 1,694 are critical. Meanwhile, 75,945 have recovered after treatment.
Spain has the second highest number of infection cases with 239,639 after the United States of America (USA).
The country reported 2,740 infection cases, 268 deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 24, 543 have died due to the novel virus as of Friday morning.
Currently, 77, 112 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 2,676 are critical.
Meanwhile, 132, 929 have recovered after treatment.
The death toll in the United Kingdom (UK) has reached 26, 771 after 674 died in the last 24 hours as of Friday morning. 795 had died on Thursday.
According to Worldometer, with 6, 032 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 171, 253.
Currently, 144, 138 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 1, 559 are critical.
France has reported 289 deaths in the last 24 hours taking to death toll to 24, 376 deaths as of Friday morning.
According to reports, the number of infection cases has surged to 167, 178 after 758 new cases were reported in a single day.
