COVID-19 sample tests begin from all seven States

KATHMANDU: All seven states have started testing COVID-19 samples after they received the PCR machines.

The BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) had, however, started the test since Monday.

The BPKIHS is currently testing 12 samples of COVID-19, according to Vice-Chancellor Guru Khanal.

Likewise, Director at Gandaki State Health Secretariat, Binod Bindu Sharma, said they have already tested three swabs and two were found negative for COVID-19.

The result of another has been awaited, he said.

Likewise, State 2 is beginning test at Janakpur soon while Sudurpaschim State will start testing from Dhangadhi. Similarly, the test will be carried out at Surkhet of Karnali State, and from Butwal in State 5, according to Pushparaj Khanal.

All required accessories with portal PCR machines had been taken to the respective places.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Health has already mobilized necessary human resource for the operation of the laboratory.
