CDO-doctors row hampering anti-COVID-19 campaign in Dolpa

KATHMANDU: When the country is in a complete lockdown and various measures are taken for the effective counter measures for potential corona outbreak, row between Chief District Officer and the Chief of District Hospital, Dolpa has adversely affected campaign against coronavirus.

Dispute between Chief District Officer Suresh Sunar and Chief of Dolpa’s District Hospital Dr. Sijan Rawal have affected the campaign against coronavirus in the district.

Dr. Rawal complained that the CDO misbehaved him calling him to a meeting for discussion about coronavirus curbing measures.

After Rawal complained it to Government Doctor’s Association of Nepal (GODAN), the umbrella organization of government doctors in Nepal, which has issued a press release demanding probe of the incident. According to the doctors, CDO Sunar, like an autocrat, not only humiliated Dr. Rawal but also got him to police custody for no reason.

GODAN President Dipendra Pandey signed release has demanded the dismissal of the CDO and instant release of Dr. Rawal.

Dr. Rawal’s cell phone has been seized and he is not allowed to talk to anyone.
