KATHMANDU: In-charge of Metropolitan Police, Sector Bhaisepati Police Inspector Devi Prasad Poudel has been recalled to Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur.
Poudel was recalled for necessary investigation after a video of him baton charging a woman carrying a child had gone viral in social media.
Spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur SP Durga Singh said that Police Inspector Sujit Ojha has been sent in place of Poudel.
Poudel had baton-charged a woman Hema Shrestha at the house of Nepal Army retired General in Bhaisepati on Wednesday.
His action has drawn criticism from several quarters.
A police team led by Spokesperson Singh has been formed to probe the incident.
