Leopard creates terror in Kavre



KAVRE: The frequent arrival of a leopard in a settlement nearby a forest area at Bhumlu rural municipality in Kavrepalanchwok has left the locals in constant fear of deadly attack.

The leopard for the past few days continues to enter the sheds and attack livestock.

Harihar Upreti of Bhumlu-7 shared that on the night of last Thursday, the wild animal entered the shed close to his house and killed eight goats.

It mauled a young she-goat and killed others by sucking the blood from their throats.

The next night, it happened to kill two goats owned by local Laxmi Rijal. The animal also killed dogs at the locality.

Locals are in fear of being attacked by wild animals at any time. They are preparing to consult with people’s representatives to seek police help.

Ward chair Motilal Tamang said the locals have been urged to remain alert to the possibility of danger.

“We, people’s representatives, are planning to sit for a meeting to find preventive measures against the probability of wildlife attack,” he said.
