5 foreigners welcomed with topis and prayer beads

JHAPA: The much-awaited Nepal Visit Year 2020 has been inaugurated by welcoming five foreigners with topis (Nepali caps) and garlands of prayer beads.

Federal lawmaker Ram Karki, Provincial lawmaker Shree Prasad Mainali, Gopal Budhathoki and mayor of Mechi Municipality Bimal Acharya welcomed them by offering topis and garlands of prayer beads.

Kankadvitta checkpoint has been decked with a Nepali flag while the vehicles bound for various Indian destinations have been equipped with a banner containing information about Nepal’s tourist destinations.

Various cultural programs were organized at the border checkpoint by Mechinagar Tourism Committee.
