Two held with pangolin’s scales



KATHMANDU: Two people have been arrested with endangered animal pangolin’s scales.

Acting on a tip-off, a police squad deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, Singha Durbar arrested Nabaraj Mijar, 27, and Ram Mijar, 32, of Sindhupalchowk district from Maitidevi area.

They were arrested with 4.45 grams of pangolin’s scales while they were ferrying the contraband in a taxi near petrol pump at Maitidevi, according to DSP Pramesh Bista, the spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu

Police said they are investigating the case after taking them into custody.
