402 killed in monsoon-induced disasters so far



KATHMANDU: A total of 402 people have died in various natural disasters from April 13 to September 30.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, floods, landslides and lightning have killed 402 people in five and a half months.

According to the Authority, 439 people have been injured and 101 have gone missing so far.

A total of 225 people died in the landslide, 64 went missing and 223 were injured.

The death toll from the floods is 42, the number of injured is 11 and the number of missing is 37, while the number of deaths due to lightning is 65.

Two hundred five people have been injured in the lightning strike.

According to the Authority, nine disasters have occurred in the last 24 hours across the country.
