Woman in home isolaton dies of COVID-19 in Morang

BIRATNAGAR: An 84-year-old woman from Urlabari Municipality-2 of Morang has died of coronavirus.

The old woman was staying in home isolation after she tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Birat Medical College.

She died on Thursday morning, said Gyan Bahadur Basnet, chief of the District Health Office, Morang.

Likewise, two people from Sunsari, Itahari died of coronavirus on Wednesday night.

A 56-year-old man of Itahari Sub-metropolis-6, who was running a hotel business in Itahari and a 27-year-old man who was doing time in Morang prison for trial in a drug case have died.

A 56-year-old man died on Wednesday night within 15 minutes after being admitted to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

According to him, the deceased, who was referred by Birat Medical College due to high fever, cough and respiratory problems, was admitted to the hospital at around 9.30 pm. The deceased did not have any old health problems. He tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.

Similarly, a 27-year-old man from Morang Jail, who was remanded in custody for trial in a drug case, died on Wednesday night.

The youth was brought to Koshi Hospital after he complained of respiratory complications. He succumbed to the virus in the course of treatment at around 8.30 pm.
