Change in weather, heavy rainfall in some places

KATHMANDU: The weather of Nepal has changed after two days, leading to precipitation in different parts of the country. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather will see a change for at least the next three days, starting today.

Heavy rainfall has been forecasted in Bagmati, Gandaki, Provinces no. 1, 2 and 5 today and tomorrow. Rain is already taking place in various parts of at present, says meteorologist Samir Shrestha.

The weather in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces will change on Wednesday and there is a possibility of rainfall in many places for three days. Monsoon is still active in Nepal and normally, it starts to wade away from the third week of September.

“However, the previous years’ trend has shown that monsoon remains active until the first week of October,” Shrestha said, which is likely to remain this year.

Though Nepal experienced an average monsoon this year, heavy rainfall before the monsoon’s start weakened the soil leading to large incidents of landslides and subsequent damage to life and property in the country. RSS
