Woman dies of coronavirus in Birgunj, Nepal’s death toll hits 57



BIRGUNJ: A woman who died while undergoing treatment at Narayani Voyodha Hospital in Birgunj has been diagnosed with coronavirus infection.

A 50-year-old woman from Birgunj Metropolitan City-16 had died at the hospital on Friday.

With the death, Nepal’s death toll from coronavirus has reached 57.

Medical Superintendent of Narayani Hospital, Dr. Madan Kumar Upadhyaya, said that the PCR test conducted at the laboratory resulted positive for the coronavirus infection in the deceased woman.

According to Dr. Niraj Singh, In-charge of Narayani Temporary Corona Hospital, the woman was admitted to Voyodha Hospital on Wednesday.

The woman, who had come for treatment of pneumonia, had respiratory problems on Friday morning.

Dr. Singh said that her swab was collected after she was presumed to have died from coronavirus.
