13 new COVID-19 cases confirmed, Nepal’s tally reaches 1,811

KATHMANDU: Nepal has reported 13 new coronavirus cases on Monday evening, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. With this, Nepal’s tally has reached 1,811.

Issuing a statement, Joint Spokesperson Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari said that new cases have been confirmed in Palpa, Nawalparasi, Gulmi, Kapilvastu and Rupandehi districts.

Two cases have been confirmed in Palpa, one each in Nawalparasi and Gulmi, seven in Kapilvastu and two in Rupandehi.

They are two men aged 17 and 36 years of Palpa’s Nisdi Rural Municipality, a 6-year-old boy of Sarawal Rural Municipality in Nawalparasi and a 26-year-old man of Gulmi Resunga Municipality.

Similarly, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 19, 21, 26, 26, 27, 35 and 40-year-old men of Kapilvastu’s Mayandevi Rural Municipality and a 3-year-old girl and a 54-year-old man in Rupandehi’s Gaidhawa Rural Municipality.

Earlier, Nepal had reported 226 new cases of coronavirus taking the tally to 1,798.

Two fresh cases were been reported in Jhapa, three in Nawalparasi (Susta East), 41 from Dailekh, 19 from Jumla, 10 from Salyan, five from Surkhet, 40 from Kapilvastu, 18 from Rautahat, five from Banke, nine from Dang, seven from Dhanusha, two from Mahottari, one from Makwanpur, 38 from Sarlahi, five from Siraha, one from Udayapur, one from Achham, 14 from Kailali, one from Baitadi, one from Doti and one in Kanchapur.

Similarly, one person has discharged today after recovery taking the tally to 221, according to Spokesperson Dr. Bikash Devkota.

Among them, 178 are males and 48 females.

Likewise, 1,569 are in isolation across the country, he said.

A total of 138 people are in isolation in Province 1, 589 in Province 2, 15 in Bagmati Province, 23 in Gandaki Province, 570 in Province 5, 197 in Karnali Province and 37 in Sudurpaschim Province.

According to the Ministry of Health, 71,903 tests have been carried out using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR0 method so far. Out of this, 2,310 samples were tested through the PCR method in the last 24 hours.

A total of 113,757 people have been quarantined across the country currently.

Spokesperson Dr. Devkota said that 3,977 people in Province1, 21,932 in Province 2, 2,654 in Bagmati Province, 3,937 in Gandaki Province, 38,230 in Province 5, 22,474 in Karnali Province and 40,771 in Sudurpaschim Province have been quarantined.

COVID-19 has spread to 59 out of 77 districts so far, Spokesperson Dr. Devkota said.

Nepal has reported eight COVID-19 deaths so far.
