Two Karnali SA members barred from attending meeting

DHANGADI: The State Assembly Secretariat of Karnali State has barred two assembly members from attending its meeting that started Sunday for allegedly breaching the code of conduct enforced as COVID-19 safety measure.

SA members Ambar Bahadur Thapa and Sushil Thapa have been restricted to attend its meeting due to their alleged engagement in violating code. Ambar Bahadur won the election from Dailekh electoral constituency 1 (B) and Sushil from the constituency 1 (A)).

The SA members beforehand had volunteered to manage quarantine facilities, inspected isolation wards and rescued those entering Dailekh district.

SA Speaker Raj Bahadur Shahi had issued a circulation asking its members to adopt health security measure and stop visiting elsewhere during the budget session.

He telephoned and urged the two SA members to remain at home quarantine for a week and attend the meeting only after getting corona tests, said the SA secretary Jiba Raj Budhathoki.

SA member Sushil charged the Speaker for exercising biasness in banning them from attending the meeting.
