28-yr-old man gruesomely murdered in Itahari



ITAHARI: A 28-year-old Rajan Rai of Tarahara of Itahari Sub Metropolitan City-20 was gruesomely murdered on Sunday night.

Local youths stabbed Rai to death with a sharp weapon over a minor dispute, according to police.

Clashes erupted between Rai and the local youths under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Police Inspector Man Prasad Shrestha of Area Police Office, Itahari, said three youths had consumed alcohol in the house of Rajan Rai.

According to CCTV footage, around 20-year-old Prajwal Tamang struck Rai from the back with a brick and others stabbed him with knives after he collapsed on to the ground.

Critically injured Rajan died while being rushed to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Police said six people including Abhisek Paudel, Abhisek KC and Krishna Ghimire were also involved in the incident.  They are now at large.

Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits and are investigating the case.

Rai had come to Nepal from Britain three months ago and was planning to go back once the lockdown is lifted.
