Death toll in Banke road mishap climbs to 12; three critical



BANKE: The death toll in Banke road accident has climbed to 12 after an injured passed away while undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital.

As many as 11 people died on the spot in a road accident that occurred at Thuriya of Raptisonari-2 along the East-West Highway in the district.

According to District Police Office, Banke, 11 people died when a bus, Na 5 Kha 5995, en-route to Salyan from Nepalgunj struck against a truck, Ba 4 Kha 9064.

The ill-fated vehicle was ferrying Nepali people to Salyan district from Nepalgunj. They had been rescued from India.

Among those killed are 11 men and one woman. Similarly, 22 others have sustained injuries.

The injured are receiving treatment at Bheri Hospital. Three among those receiving treatment is said to be critical.
