‘Indian Army should be sent back from Kalapani’



DHANGADI: Sudurpaschim State Government has urged the federal governmet to take initiative to send the Indian Army back from Nepali territory in Kalapani, close the road constructed there and make presence of the government in Kalapani area.

During the special hour of today’s State Assembly meeting, Sudurpaschim State Government’s Spokesperson and Law Minister Prakash Bahadur Shah thanked the federal government for its historic and patriotic act of issuing new political and administrative map by incorporating areas including Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani.

He also urged the government to take immediate step to establish administration office in order to make full presence of the state in such areas as well as to bring Vyas Rural Municipality folks in the mainstream of the development along with establishment of additional border out post (BOP).

Spokesperson Sah shared, “The federal government should take political, diplomatic and other concrete initiatives for decisive talks with Indian government as per the aspiration and spirit of the Sugauli Treaty of 1816.”

Saying the State Government has been taking initiatives for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19 and different activities including rescuing citizens from borders, he added, “We have been able to change this state as a green zone from red zone with support of all.”

Prior to this, State Assembly members Pruna Joshi and Karna Malla asked the State Government to make arrangements for lodging and food in quarantine facilities for those entering into the State from India.

Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Jhapat Bahadur Bohara, responded the queries raised by State Assembly members during the discussion on pre budget of fiscal year 2020/021.
