Locals terrorized as wild tuskers create mayhem



SAPTARI: Wild elephants have created a mayhem in various parts of the district, terrorizing locals.

According to District Police Office, Saptari, the wild tuskers broke down over a dozen houses and destroyed crops in Saptakoshi and Khadga Municipalities.

The elephants entering the village from nearby Koshi Tappu Wild Life Reserve vandalized house walls, shanties and ate up crops and foodstuffs in the village, said police.

The huts belonging to Santosh Kumar, Rajendra Sah, Ahok Prasad Sah, Dinesh Sardar based in Saptakosi Municipality-9 were broken down.

Similarly, the wild tuskers gobbled up 12 sacks of rice by destroying the house wall of Aisha Khatun in Khadka Municipality.
